For the director of music. A psalm of David. A song.
1 In Zion we with
reverence praise,
O God, we'll pay
our vows.
2 You've listened
to our pleading cries;
so each one
comes to you.
3 We're overwhelmed
by many sins,
but you've
atoned for them.
4 Blest is the one
you choose and bring
to live within
your courts.
We surely shall
be satisfied
with your
abundant grace,
within your holy
temple's courts,
within your
dwelling place.
5 To us in awesome
deeds of truth
you answer,
Savior God,
in whom all
earth and distant seas
must put their
confidence.
6 You form the
mountains by your strength,
for you are
armed with might.
7 The oceans' roar,
the nations' noise,
alike you cause
to cease.
8 Those living at
the ends of earth
are awed by your
great signs;
where morning
dawns and ev'ning fades
you call forth
shouts of joy.
9 You care for
earth and water it,
you make it rich
to grow;
God's river is
with water full;
you plan to give
them grain.
10 You drench
earth's furrows gen'rously,
with rain its
ridges smooth;
you with your
showers soften it,
its growth you
greatly bless.
11 You with your
bounty crown the year,
the harvest
carts o'erflow.
12 The open
grasslands prosper well,
the hills are
girt with joy.
